Helmer Scientific Products Achieve AABB Standards-Compliant Product Recognition
AABB has developed the Standards-Compliant Product Program, an initiative for vendors that supply products and services to the transfusion medicine community. The program is designed to benefit both vendors and their customers by offering assurance that products for blood banks and transfusion services are in compliance with AABB Standards.
In order to participate in the program, vendors of laboratory equipment must apply to have AABB review their products. Recognition in the framework of the program is structured around evaluations of specific products. In order to qualify for approval, technical documentation such as Operation and Service Manuals for these products must be reviewed by an AABB expert in standards and quality systems. In addition, the evaluation looks at aspects of a supplier’s Quality System that impact their ability to support customers’ compliance efforts.
When a product achieves the Standards-Compliant Product designation, it receives an “AABB Standards-Compliant” seal. This provides assurance that the vendor’s quality system and technical documentation support AABB standards relating to equipment, process control, and document control. Helmer Scientific’s participation in the program shows that we care about customer needs and demonstrates that our primary focus is on quality.
