Process Engineer
General Description:
This position will be responsible for providing support to manufacturing and engineering functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Establish capacity planning for current and new products
· Develop Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
· Develop floor layouts and process flows for manufacturing to meet forecasted prodution requirements
· Develop work instructions and processes for manufacturing based on specifications from engineering group
· Design fixtures and jigs for current and new product, ensuring product quality and ergonomic requirements
· Investigate and document root cause analysis of non-conforming products
· Conduct and record time/motion/method studies involved in production performance, clerical and other operations for such purposes as establishing standard production rates or improving efficiencies
· Investigate and implement "Great Idea" requests
· Follow all company regulatory policies and procedures including but not limited to FDA/GMP, OSHA/IOSHA and ISO
Skill / Knowledge / Education Requirements:
· AS in engineering or engineering technology required, BS preferred
· 3-5 years experience working with sheet metal in manufacturing environment
· Computer Literate: Word, Excel, Visio - knowledge of Fourthshift a plus

Sr. Refrigeration Engineer
General Description
Support department goals/initiatives through the design, engineering and implementation of new products; and re-engineering of existing products.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Lead the refrigeration, thermodynamic, and heat transfer aspects of new product design (high level systems and component level specification)
· Lead investigations into Corrective Actions pertaining to refrigeration systems
· Lead and participate in design-related launch tasks such as DFMEA, Design Reviews, Test Plans, Prototype Builds, and Build Reviews
· Support continuous improvement in cost, quality, and energy efficiency of the current product line
· Assist with expanded product design work in either the mechanical or electrical disciplines
· Lead investigations into advanced refrigeration technology, including significant supplier interaction
· Study and identify changing requirements in the refrigeration industry (regulatory requirements and environmental requirements including refrigerants)
· Ensure that testing and documentation meet the standards set forth by QPS, CE, AABB, FDA, ASHRAE, UL471 and other applicable regulations
· Design company test protocols to improve the quality of new product verification and production validation
· Support current and new product production in specification, selection, and validation of processes and equipment
· Maintain active membership within ASHRAE or related industry organizations
· MUST be innovative and creative in developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, and products, including artistic contributions
Experience & Education Requirements:
· BSME or BSEE or a combination of education and experience in thermodynamics
· 10+ years experience in a manufacturing environment focused on new product development specific to refrigeration and sheet metal fabrication; electrical control systems design a plus
· Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and utilize critical thinking skills a must
· Excellent organizatinal (multi-tasking) and communication (verbal & written) skills required
· Common computer skills required in Word, Excel, and other Microsoft products. CAD experience required; 2D AutoCAD with 3D modeling (Inventor) a plus
Electrical / Software Design Engineer
General Description:
Support department goals/initiatives through the design, engineering and implementation of new products; and re-engineering of existing products.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Electrical design for new product development
· Must be familiar with embedded and real-time programming in Linux and C/C++, software engineering processes, software estimation, configuration management, and software testing. Knowledge of embedded designs using Atmel AVR and ARM processors
· Assist in process optimization for products and engineering instructions specific to the department
· Investigate Engineering Change Requests
· Prototype new designs and changes to existing products
· Documents technical aspects of assigned projects and ensures that data is properly retained (Project/Design History files, Design Reviews, Lab Notebooks, etc.)
· Follows all company regulatory policies and procedures including but not limited to: FDA/GMP and OSHA/IOSHA

· Locate and develop outside resources for product development, including software
· Defines system for software validation and implements validation
· Over see work of engineering technicians
· Work with regulatory agencies of the testing and approval of Helmr products

General Description:
Responsible for guiding, managing, and leading all Human Resource functions including services, policies, and programs.

Technical Writer
General Description:
This position will be responsible for the creation and revision of user guides, service manuals, and related media to support Helmer's product lines, along with maintenance and communications regarding product documentation.
Essential Functions:
· Create and/or maintain product user guides & technical manuals based on information from multiple sources. Sources may include engineering specifications, marketing input, drawings, and hands-on product usage
· Gather, evaluate, organize, and present information to meet the needs of various audiences
· Coordinate internal and external production, translation and distribution of technical documentation
· Continually monitor system and product changes to ascertain effects on documentation
· Create templates, edit, and maintain illustrations for use in documentation
· Assist with information gathering and act as voice of customer with respect to product documentation
· Demonstrate technical ability to understand and operate Helmer products
· Communicate documentation changes both internally and externally
· Work with others to maintain internal and external access to published documentation, determine needs (includes training), and identify issues
· Analyze current system processes and initiate changes as appropriate to meet business needs
· Support marketing communication needs (product specifications, sales bulletins, web page updates)
Skill / Knowledge / Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Technical degree or equivalent work experience
· 2-3 years technical writing experience for product hardware
· Technical writing experience in an engineering and manufacturing environment
· Demonstrated writing, editing, and document production skills
· Excellent verbal & written communication skills are critical - must be detailed oriented
· Familiarity with documentation layout and graphic design, both print and online
· Computer skilsl including MS Office, page layout, photo editing, and illustration software. InDesign experience required; Adobe Creative Suite knowledge and software documentation experience a plus
· Ability to work and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment in which direction may change frequently
· Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision while working independently or as a part of a team
