General Fabrication - Entry Level

Primary Responsibilities:
· Performs repetitive fabrication tasks such as deburring, bead blasting, grinding, and sanding
· Loading and unloading of material for laser machine
· Moving inventory
· Serves in the paint room to hang and remove parts from the paint line
· Document each step according to GMP
· Additional specialized training may be added to this position
Experience & Education Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent GED
· Must be able to read and understand work instructions in English
· Relative work experience one to three years

 

Industrial Engineering Technician 3

General Description
Helmer, Inc., a worldwide leader in clinical laboratory products and growing medical device manufacturer is currently seekign an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for its Noblesville, IN location.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Work closely with others in a team environment.
· Ensure product design manufacturability, new product production process design and documentation.
· Support plant layout design and re-arrangements activities.
· Assist with the recording of time, motion, and methods involved in performance of production, clerical and other worker operations for such purposes as establishing standard production rates or improving efficiency.
· Assist with the development of bill of materials and process flow.
· Work with Industrial Engineers on continuous process improvement projects.
· Support ongoing production in the sheet metal programming of CNC turret punches and Laser.
· Implement "Great Idea" requests.
· Documentation of processes, procedures, process capability and control analysis.
· Follows all company regulatory policies and procedures including but not lilmited to FDA/GMP, OSHA/IOSHA and ISO.
Experience & Education Requirements:
· Associates degree in Engineering
· Proficient in MS Office - Excel
· AutoCAD 2D
· ERP or MRP experience
· Physical ability to sit or stand for long periods
· Ability to climb, stoop, grasp objects, and lift up to 40 lbs.
Preferred skills:
· Inventor skills or similar program
· Fourth Shift experience
· MS Project skills
· Lean and/or PMP certifications

 

Manufacturing Engineer

General Description
Helmer, Inc., a worldwide leader in clinical laboratory products and growing medical device manufacturer is currently seekign an experienced Maufacturing Engineer for its Noblesville, IN location.
The Manufacturing Engineer transfers machine designs and processes to Manufacturing and supports lean flow across the entire company.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Work closely with others in a team environment.
· Ensure product design manufacturability and new product production process design.
· Establish new project scopes and timelines.
· Participate in capacity planning for current and new products.
· Research and manage implementation of cost reduction initiates.
· Assist in the development of lean manufacturing continuous improvements.
· Develop floor layouts and process flows for manufacturing to meet forecasted production requirements.
· Design fixtures and jigs for current and new product, ensuring product quality and ergonomic requirements.
· Investigate and implement "Great Idea" requests.
· Develop and manage creation of work instructions and processes for maufacturing based on specifications from the Engineering group.
· Take and record time, motion, and methods involved in performance of production, clerical and other worker operations for such purposes as establishing standard production rates or improving efficiency.

Marketing Manager

General Description
The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Evaluate customer research, market conditions, competitor data and implements marketing plan changes as needed
· Oversee all marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities
· Lead the marketing department to strategically collect, analyze, and share market knowledge that increases revenue, profit and market share
· Provides effective tools to dominate and defend core business as well as seek new growth opportunities
· Global marketing of Helmer manufactured and distributed products
· Develop annual marketing plan in conjunction with sales department, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which focuses on meeting Helmer objectives
· Manage the Marketing department budget
· Manage the entire product line life cycle from product development planning to product launch and tactical activities
· Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers, surveys, shows, and market data
· Drive a solution set across internal devopmental teams through market requirements, product contract, and positioning
· Analyze potential partner relationships within each market for Helmer products and services
· Participate in department and individual team member development
· Demonstrate marketing skills and product knowledge of laboratory capital equipment applications within the domestic and international Clinical and Research markets
Experience & Education Requirements:
· 3-5 years of marketing management experience in the medical capital equipment market
· Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field
· Experience with various ERP systems
· Extensive experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives
· Strong understanding of clinical or research laboratory capital equipment product applications, market dynamics, and equipment regulatory requirements preferred
· Willingness to travel with 15% travel required
· Proven ability to oversee all marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities
· Previous experience with department budget, annual product forecast, and price structure

 

Refrigeration Assembly - Entry Level

Primary Responsibilities:
· Performs repetitive assembly tasks using basic hand tools
· Build temperature controlled storage units, refrigerators/freezers and thawing systems
· Follows work instruction to determine the process required
· May be required to record measurements
· Document each step according to GMP
· Performs quality testing
· Additional specialized training may be added to this position (cleaning and packaging, precision electrical soldering, brazing or wiring)
Experience & Education Requirements:
· High School diploma or equivalent GED
· Must be able to read and understand work instructions in English
· Relative work experience one to three years

 

Refrigeration Assembly - Level III

General Description
Currently a first shift assembly opening in the Refrigeration area.  These are high level assembly positions requiring specified skill set and a broad knowledge of multiple machines/equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Assembly of units to print using known industry standards for electrical wiring refrigeration and PLC Programming.
· Final testing of finished product.
· Documenting process to insure that the FDA GMP guidelines are followed.
· Plumbing, soldering, charging and recovery of refrigeration systems.
Experience & Education Requirements:
· Must have experience in reading detailed electrical and mechanical prints and assemble as required.
· Must have the ability to trouble shoot electrical and mechanical problems to root cause and repair as required.
· Must have outstanding mechanical aptitude.
· Prefer experience in the refrigeration systems evacuation and charging.
· Requires High School Diploma or GED
· Must have a good attention to detail.
· Must possess required reading comprehension and math skills per Wonderlick assessment (= minimum score of 20).

 

Technical Service Coordinator

General Description
Works directly with the Technical Service Manager to implement departmental strategic plans and objectives.  Elevated responsibilities include providing guidance and assistance to Helmer technicians.  Acts as a liaison between Engineering and Technical Service for new product development and current product modification recommendations.  Develops and maintains product technical training for customer field service requirements (domestic and international).  Provide worldwide product support including part support and varying degrees of troubleshooting assistance to customers and Helmer service technicians.
Responsibilities:
Primary:
· Works directly with the technical service manager regarding strategic and developmental projects for the department such as establishing troubleshooting tools, creating internal and external training programs, etc.
· Provides assistance and general guidance to the service technicians, acts as a cascade refrigeration and general technical expert for the department
· Serves on new product development teams as the technical service liaison, ensuring new products are designed in a manner that meet field serviceability requirements
· Establishes and maintains training requirements and documents to support customer needs both domestically and internationally
Periodic:
· Communication and problem solving with other departments within Helmer
· Provides support via telephone, fax and e-mail to customers and worldwide distributors concerning technical service issues
· Provides detailed troubleshooting and problem solving, both hands-on and via telephone or related communication support
· Post repair product inspection and disposition approval
· Evaluation, repair and disposition of equipment & components returned to Helmer
· Shared responsibility of service database inputs and account maintenance
Experience & Education Requirements:
· Requires formal training after High School, related military experience; AS in EET, MET or commercial refrigeration discipline preferred.
· Research Market experience is preferred
· Minimum 3-5 years experience in customer communication with regards to problem solving and resolution
· Minimum 5 years experience with cascade refrigeration
· Excellent organizational (multi-tasking) and communication (verbal & written) skills required
· Computer skills required with knowledge of Word and Excel; Fourth Shift, Goldmine and RA log software knowledge a plus
· Periodic travel in short durations will be required
